Polka America Corporation Excellence in Music Awards

The PACE Awards are a National Music Award, through Polka America Corporation, recognizing those who release significant recordings in their class in North America.  Nominees are selected and voted for by experts in the field, members of Polka America Corporation, and the public.  This is a combination "peer" and "fan" award.

PACE awards will be given in the following categories:

Best New Original Song, Best Polish Recording,  Best Slovenian Recording, Best German Recording, and Best Variety Recording which can include these sub categories and more:

Czech, Bohemian, Ukranian, Scandanavian, Cajun/Zydeco, Tejano/Mexican, and Contemporary/New-Wave

All Categories above must have a minimum of eight submissions to be considered their own category. Otherwise, they will be placed in the Best Variety Category.

PAC will reserve the right to combine some of the categories if the number of new releases for a category does not justify a separate award.  Qualified recordings need to have been released in the previous year for the following year's awards voting.  Nominees and voters are not required to be members of Polka America Corporation.  Voting categories are member, expert, and general population.  Expert voters (musicians, publishers, song writers, DJs/IJs, etc.) must pre-register by December 31st through the PAC website to vote as an expert the following year.  PAC will release the nomination ballots to the IJs/DJs/Experts.   IJs/DJs/Experts nominate all CDs and new original songs released.  IJs/DJs/Experts will then vote for their selections in each category.  The top vote-getters in each category IJ/DJ/Expert vote are added to the PAC membership and public voting ballot.  The results from the IJ/DJ/Expert vote, PAC membership, and the public vote are combined and winner announced.  (Primary IJ nominations are through 247PolkaHeaven & Polka Jammer.)  Voting takes place on the PAC related websites with links available on the Polka America Corporation website homepage or this awards page.
